Beautiful forest and gorgeous lake

Located between Rhyd Ddu and the village of Beddgelert, the wonderful Beddgelert Forest features a circular walk that incorporates the stunning Llyn Llywelyn which is backed by woodland and high peaks. There’s plenty for doggies to explore along the way such as the streams that tumble down the hillside. Canine swimmers can have enormous fun at the lake where there are beaches and picnic tables. This walk takes around 90 minutes including a 10-15 minutes stop at the lake but can be extended to include a walk around the lake or various diversions courtesy of additional trails.

Unfortunately, sheep do stray into Beddgelert Forest from neighbouring farms and so this walk is best suited to dogs that have no interest in chasing the animals. It’s a great option for a 90minute – 120 minute walk and the route isn’t a strenuous undertaking. Better still, you can’t beat the ambiance of the lake area or the views across the water to Snowdon!
