Stunning Sandy Beach
If you are a playful pooch, there are few better places for adventuring than Dinas Dinlle. The ideal year-round destination (so long as it isn’t windy), it features miles of golden sand and a gently shelving beach that provides shallow waters for paddlers but enables doggies to enjoy their swims too. Dogs can also explore rock pools and the dunes behind the beach. However, Dinas Dinlle is best visited when the tide is out. At high tide, the water covers the entire beach. Of course, the dunes are also great for dog walks but nothing compares to ball chasing on the sand!
Dinas Dinlle is divided into three separate areas by breakwaters. I tend to visit the far end which is adjacent to Caernarfon Airport. It’s generally quiet there, even during the summer months, and so dogs can run around without disturbing anyone. Indeed, a high proportion of those who do visit the beach are dog walkers or dog owners. The vast expanse of sand, dunes and grassy areas ensures that Dinas Dinlle is suitable for walks of any duration.
