PORTHDINLLAEN

Amazing bay with a wonderful sandy beach

Possibly the most beautiful coastal location in North Wales, Porthdinllaen is simply special and is famous for featuring Ty Coch, a pub on the shoreline. There are two ways to reach Porthdinllaen from the National Trust car park – walk across Morfa Nefyn beach or walk through the golf course above. If the tide is high, the latter is the best option. Once at Porthdinllaen, dogs can enjoy the sandy beach and swims in the sea. They can also meet other doggies as this is a popular destination for dog owners. For this reason, Porthdinllaen is best suited to friendly dogs who enjoy meeting canine pals.

Beyond the beach, a narrow trail leads around the headland to gorgeous sandy coves. Seals bask on the rocks and cormorants rest before their next fishing expeditions. The beaches around Porthdinllaen shelve relatively steeply into the clear blue sea, which means neither humans or dogs need to walk out very far to swim.
